George Ellsworth Murdock
(August 16, 1920 - October 26, 2007)



 George Ellsworth Murdock, 87 of Huntington died Oct 26 , 2007 after a prolonged illness. He was born Born Aug 16, 1920 in Logan, WV, a son of the late Avery E Murdock and Mary Lucina "Marie" Winters Murdock. George was raised in Huntington, and was a WWII Veteran. He was active with Wayne City jail visitation with "Bill" Luther Holley for Grace Gospel Church, where he taught Sunday School and was a faithful charter member. George was by trade a prominent Huntington photographer for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Murdock of Delbarton, WV two sons; Schuler Murdock of Gainesville, Fl. ,and Paul E Murdock of Ona, WV., two sisters; Lucina Bell Wright of Medina, Oh, and Roberta Reynolds in Lambertville, Mi., One granddaughter Melissa Sue Murdock, one step grandson James McKee, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is deeply loved and will be missed by many till they're reunited. Thank you Lord for such a wonderful loving and patient Husband and Father. You've touched our lives in so many loving ways. Thank You! I Love You! Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00pm Tuesday at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home with Rev. William Holley and Rev. Keith Wiebe Officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
