Obituary

Hazel M. Smith, 91, of Huntington, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington with Pastor Jesse Lacy officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Hazel was born May 13, 1916 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Jacob and Rebecca Kendrick Mathes. She was a former owner of Smith Sunoco Motor Sales. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald K. Smith Sr.; three sisters, Elizabeth, Sue and Rosa; five brothers, Carol, Garland, Jennings, Collard and Hiram. Survivors include a daughter-in-law Jackie Smith of Fairborn, OH; two granddaughters, Sherry J. Lord of Huntington and Christina D Schrider of Fairborn, OH; one grandson, Ronald K. Smith, of Flower Mound, TX; one sister, Daisy Sacre of Huntington; three great grandchildren, Joshua and Robert Lord and Morgen Smith. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
