Beulah Mae Nelson
(March 22, 1925 - October 3, 2008)



Beulah Mae Jackson Nelson, 83, of Huntington, W.Va., departed this life and was escorted into paradise on angel wings, Friday, October 3, 2008, after a long illness. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Young Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Huntington, with Rev. Reginald Hill officiating. Entombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born March 22, 1925 in Topeka, Kansas, to the late Dr. W.K. Elliott and Patricia Galligher Elliott. She graduated from Douglas High School, Fisk University and St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She attended the Young Chapel AME Church where she was a member of the choir and a steward. She was a retired LPN and had worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and Green Acres. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Cabell-Huntington Hospital where she had served as a volunteer since 1992. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Jessie Nelson and a son, William Kennedy Jackson. She leaves to mourn three sons and a daughter; Dr. John Patrick (Marcella) Jackson, Horace C. “Jackie” (Valerie) Jackson both of Huntington, W.Va. and David Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio; Allison (Ben) Harris of Frederick, MD, five grandchildren; Kane Jackson and Krystal Tackett of Cleveland, OH, James Harris of Frederick, MD, LaKeisha Jackson of Huntington, W.Va. and Deon Jackson of Beverly Hills, CA, four great-grandchildren; Haley and Elias Jackson, Kelsey and Abigail Tackett all of Cleveland, OH. A host of friends also survive. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at Young Chapel AME Church. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709. The care and services of Mrs. Nelson are under the direction of Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington.
