Dr. Ibrahim was born in Mansourah, Egypt and moved to the United States in 1976, where he trained as a surgical resident at The Thomas Jefferson University Medical College in Philadelphia, PA and The Rutgers Cooper Medical Center in Camden, NJ. He practiced vascular and general surgery for over twenty five years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Maureen Todd Ibrahim; daughter Dr. Sherrine Ibrahim M.D., and husband William Ian Towler of Baltimore, MD; daughter Mona Ibrahim, Esq., of Seattle, WA; son, Adam Ibrahim of Huntington; granddaughter, Keira Maureen Towler; brother Ali Ibrahim of Somerset, NJ; and sister Laila Amiry of Cairo, Egypt and many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews at home and abroad. Dr. Ibrahim was a highly respected physician who passionately served his community. He was a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Ireland and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His love for his profession was only exceeded by his love and dedication to his family and friends. Dr. Ibrahim brought joy, fun, and excitement to the hearts of everyone he met and left a deep impression on those who knew him. He experienced his greatest joy as a teacher, coach and counselor. His kindness, love and laughter influenced many young people and students in the community. He was an incredible personality that will be sorely missed by those who considered him a second father, especially Doctors Feras and Salah El-Bash and the entire El-Bash family. Graveside services were held April 13, 2010 at 1:30 pm at the Graceland Memorial Park in Charleston, WV. The family asks in lieu of flowers to please make donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society in Dr. Ibrahim’s honor.
