Freelin Tomblin
(January 23, 1925 - April 28, 2010)



Freelin Tomblin, 85 of Huntington passed away April 25, 2010 at the VA Medical Center. He was born January 23, 1925 in East Lynn, a son of the late John Tomblin and Verna Ramey Tomblin. Freelin had served in the US Army Air Corp. during WW II, and had worked for Byards Meets. He was a member of the Walnut Hills Church of the Nazarene and was an avid bowler at Colonial Bowling Lanes. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lahoma Tomblin, one son Roger Freelin Tomblin Sr (Gloria) of Chesapeake, OH, two daughters; Janet Ann Simpkins Of Athalia, OH, and Teresa Lee Dial (John) of Huntington, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00pm Wednesday April 28, 2010 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
