Obituary
Jimmy H. Burdette
Jimmy H. Burdette, 86 of Huntington went to be with his beloved heavenly father June 10, 2010 at his residence. Jimmy was born January 29, 1924, a son of the late Leslie and Rosa Burdette. He was proceeded in death by one brother Bobby Noel Burdette; one sister Helen Berry. He was a 1943 graduate of Huntington East High School. He then enlisted to serve his country during WWII serving in the US Army & Air Force. After his discharge he graduated from Marshall University in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He was very active with the YMCA serving as aquatic instructor as well as many other positions. Jimmy was also a Certified Electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was also an avid reader and had written several books. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Sherrie Burdette of 26yrs; one son James A Burdette; one sister Wanda Richie; nephew Robert “Bobby” Brown; and 3 cousins; Bill, Jack and David Curtis and Barbara Hensley. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday June 15, 2010 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral.
