Mildred Virginia Ferrell
(August 19, 1927 - August 26, 2011)

Mildred Virginia Ferrell, 84 of Huntington, WV went to be with the Lord August 26, 2011 in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am Monday August 29, 2011 at Good Shephard Freewill Baptist Church, Huntington, with Rev. Jason Black officiating. Burial will follow in Highlawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV. Mildred was born August 19, 1927 in Burnwell, WV, a daughter to the late Thomas and Clercy Jerrell Hamilton. She was a member of the Good Shepard Freewill Baptist Church of Huntington, WV. She loved her Lord, her faith was strong and she was very strong in her beliefs and lessons she taught her family. “God first, then family, Always tell the truth and display your integrity, and Always work hard for a living. Mildred loved to can, quilt and travel. In addition to being a devoted Christian she had been a co-owner of Ferrell Mortuary, INC from 1977 to 1998, and was a good homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons Terry E Ferrell, and Thomas “Tom” Ferrell. Survivors include her loving and caring husband Charles Ferrell of 66 years whom she married March 6, 1945, one daughter Beverly A. Settle (John) of Fayetteville, WV, and one very special daughter-in-law Anita Ferrell whom she loved as her own, 4 granddaughters, one grandson, one very special great grandson, and one very special great granddaughter “Baby Doll” and 12 additional great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a family who loved her very much and a host of many friends who will never forget her. Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home Sunday August 28, 2011 Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington is in charge of arrangements.
