David F. Scott
David Francis Scott 1940 - 2012 On April 26, 1940 in the city of Huntington, West Virginia the chimes of time rang out the news that David Francis Scott was born, a son of the late John W. and Virginia Davis Scott. He received his early education in the Cabell County Public School System. He served his country and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army. He retired from Coyne Textiles after many years of faithful service. On Saturday, April 14, 2012 from room B1 of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House the chimes of time rang out again announcing that David was called to join his parents John & Virginia, and his brothers Harry & John, Jr. who preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Alice Whitfield Scott, eight children; Julius Whitfield of Atlanta, Georgia, Jerome (Loretta) Whitfield, Sr. of Wayne, West Virginia, Kohnee Harmon of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Alice Washington of Dunbar, West Virginia, Tammy Whitfield, Mary Whitfield, Tonya Whitfield and Parzella Harris all of Huntington, West Virginia, one sister Emma Barnet of Columbus, Ohio, 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relative and friends. Funeral services will be 1:00PM Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Encouragers Fellowship Church 1630 Doulton Avenue, Huntington, WV with Bishop John A. Martin, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home.
