Nancy Carlene Stephens
(May 11, 1933 - November 21, 2012)

Nancy Carlene Stephens, 79 of Huntington passed away November 21, 2012 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. She was born May 11, 1933 a daughter of the late Elmer Carl Schools and Geraldine Bias Schools. Nancy was an avid baseball fan and had worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier. She was also a very proud foster parent. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Wallace Schools. Survivors include her husband, James Stephens whom she married in 1950, 5 children; Wanda Gail Weaver (Ronald) of Huntington Beach, CA, Gerald Lane Stephens (Bonnie) of Layfette, CA, Jeffrey Carl Stephens (Starla) of Downey, CA, Vicki Jane Alvarez (Rick) of Fullerton, CA and John Willis Stephens of Downey, CA, Randy Von Heuring, whom she raised as a son, one sister; Jane Ellen Ryan (Roy) of Columbus, OH and one brother Donald Lee Schools (Janie) of Garland, TX, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00pm Saturday November 24, 2012 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to hospice of Huntington.
