James Albert Hill
(January 30, 1930 - July 8, 2014)

James "Jimmy" Albert Hill, 84, took his final rest in Huntington, WV on July 8, 2014. He was a loving son and brother and devoted husband. The son to the late William Ward Hill and Sally Beatrice Pollard-Hill, was born in Braeholm, Wv. He was the middle child of eleven children. The family moved to Huntington, WV in September 1945 and he remained there until his death. James "Jimmy" Hill joined the Air Force in 1951 and served until 1955. In 1958, he married the late Evelyn Delores Zachary-Hill. After her death, he never remarried. At a very early age, James began working at the C and 0 Hospital. He also worked for CSX Railroad where he later retired. James, "Jimmy", was very quick witted and had an ironic sense of humor. He could make you laugh and cry at the same time. "Jimmy" made you stay on your toes while having a conversation with him. He enjoyed having company, even when he would say he didn't. He was known for giving out candy and bubble gum to the neighborhood children. "Jimmy" spent many days sitting on his porch enjoying his neighbors. He is proceeded in death by his wife, Evelyn Delores Hill, his parents, William Ward Hill and Sally Beatrice Pollard-Hill, and his ten brothers and sisters William Hill, Charles Hill, Jack Hill, Robert Hill, Donald Hill, Vivian Jackson, Lucille Hill, Myrtle Keith, Geraldine Clark, and Georgia Lightner. He leaves to morn a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends. Services will be held at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home at 4 p.m. July 13, 2014. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral.
