John Adkins, Jr.
(July 15, 1944 - November 5, 2014)

John "Dody" Adkins, Jr., age 70, of Huntington, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Born July 15, 1944 in Amherstdale, WV, he was the son of the late Donald Mason and Elsie (Adams) Adkins. John was a mechanic who loved working on cars. He was formerly employed by American Stamping and Westport Axle in Cleveland, Oh. John loved his family and will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. John was a selfless man. He gave help to anyone who asked it of him. He is survived by five children, Vera May Adkins of Cleveland, OH, Charlene Dawn Miller of Ashland, OH, Toni Renee Flint of Ashland, OH, John Adkins, Jr., of Huntington and Ina Marie Adkins of Houston, TX; his sister, Prudy Adkins of Cleveland, OH; his friend and former wife, Mary Lou (Smith) Adkins; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Adkins and his sister, Lake Hatfield. Services for John will be held privately by his family.
