Teresa Mae Shanks
(January 7, 1953 - April 24, 2015)

Theresa Mae Shanks, 62, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. Born January 7, 1953 in Akron, OH, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Chessie Looney Shanks. As a nurse, Theresa spent most of her life caring for others while she worked at Miletree and Eldercare in Spencer, WV. She is survived by her brothers, Richard Shanks and his wife, Wilma Harper, of Columbus, OH and George “Ron” Shanks of Orville, OH; her sister, Frances Shanks Justice of Spencer, and four nieces and one nephew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John “Donnie” Shanks and his wife, Diane. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Mount Welcome Church, 100 Ambler Ridge Road, Walton, WV. As a final goodbye, Theresa would like for everyone to bring live plants or flowers and plant them in her memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Tri-State Cremation Society.
