Grace Yvette Davenport
(October 14, 1967 - June 7, 2015)

Grace "Nee " Yvette Simms Davenport, 47, of Las Vegas, NV, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 7, 2015. Grace was born on October 14, 1967 in Huntington, WV. Grace is preceded in death by her son, Brandon Christopher Simms; paternal grandparents, Edward Franklin Simms, Sr. and Evelyn Mae Simms; maternal grandparents, Willie Lee Neely and Grace Pauline Neely. She is survived by her son, Isaiah Russell Davenport; parents, Donald Grant Simms, Sr. (Susette) and Lottie Jane Neely Simms; her siblings, Evelyn Denise Adelja (Ekundayo) and Donald Grant Simms, Jr. (Melissa); step-siblings, Jessica Harper-Page (Jamie), Natasha Harper and Selena Harper. Grace was a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelors in Sociology. Shortly after graduation, she began her career in helping others through social work in Ohio, where she worked for many years. Grace was a devoted, passionate woman who was deeply involved in the life of her son, Isaiah, and the health of her family for the duration of her life. She enjoyed helping others, laughter and the word of the Lord. Her family and friends will always remember her as a phenomenal, compassionate woman, an amazing mother, and a beautiful soul who loved her nieces and nephews. A viewing is scheduled at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home on June 19th, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Christ Temple Church with Pastor Chuck Lawrence, officiating, Saturday, June 20th at 12 Noon. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Grace’s life.
