Bruce Campbell
France Sr.
(November 10, 1947 - August 5, 2020)
Bruce Campbell
France, Sr. was
born in Huntington, West Virginia on November 10, 1947. He was the youngest
of seven (7) children born to Elmer “Kidney” France and Bertha Belle Miller
France. Having
grown up in and around Huntington, he received his formal education through
the Cabell County Public Schools system, culminating at Huntington High
School. Bruce was employed as a sanitation worker with the City of
Huntington until his retirement. He attended Full Gospel Assembly.
Bruce
was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and New York Giants football fan. He seemed
to derive great joy from his relationship with family,who were all special
and dear to him. A talented vocalist, Bruce was the lead singer with a
popular local dance and show band known as The Kickin’ Mustangs.
In
addition to both parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his cherished wife,
Lola Harris, as well as his siblings, Charles “Peg” Miller, Alta Mae “Honey”
Walker, Ruby Miller, Guy Hunter, and Enid Germanine Chappell.
Among those that remain to sustain his legacy are his children: Bruce Justin
Todd Davis, Cara Leann Davis, Bruce Campbell France, Jr., and Andre’ Maurice
Branch; his one remaining brother, Larry Dean France; half sister: Stacy
Johnson, grandchildren, Justin Todd Davis, Alaiya Cierra Davis, Christian
Wanya Davis, Lakin Brianne Davis, Aubrey Sofia Sky Dotson, Kyra Destiny
Evans, Jordan Laizon France, Kaiyan Kingsley France, China Markham, Andre’
Branch, Jr., Darrious Branch, and Marquis Branch. In addition, Bruce always
enjoyed the company of his special nephew and niece Lamont Miller and Renee’
Walker respectively, He also relished
the opportunity to socialize with his close friends,
including Lowell “Chop” Cooper,
Steward Jordan, Jr., Billy Congleton, Ronnie Jackson, “Ceecee” Perry,
“Pappy” Davis, Dennis Chukwuemeka, and Finley Davis as well as with many
others. Bruce Campbell France will remain fondly in the memory
of all of those that knew him. A
Memorial Service will be conducted 1:00 P.M, Friday, August 14, 2020 at
Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home with Bishop Samuel R. Moore officiating.
Visitation will begin at noon.
