Obituary

Eric Scott Jackson
(July 11, 1978 - February 9, 2020)

Eric Scott Jackson, 41, was called home to be with the Heavenly Father on February 9, 2020. Scott was born July 11, 1978 in Huntington, WV to Angela Rene’ Jackson. Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Brandon Jackson; grandfather, Samuel Jackson; uncles, Jonathan “Bro” Jackson and Samuel Jackson, Jr. Scott was known for being a kind-hearted man who loved his family and friends.  He encouraged fellowshipping together and loved to host cookouts and gatherings and loved to plan trips. Scott was most proud of being a father and was always engaged in the academic and sports-related activities that his son, Erikai was participating in. He was always willing to listen to and encourage others and was always available to lend a helping hand.  Scott always had a big smile on his face.  He neither complained nor bragged about his good deeds, but quietly met the needs of others without seeking recognition.  Scott was a loving father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin and deeply loved all of his family and his friends. Most importantly, Scott loved the Lord and was baptized on October 6, 1991. Scott graduated from Huntington High School in 1996 and graduated from Marshall University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree. Scott served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in March of 2000.  He was employed by Frontier Communications and was a member of The Owls Social Club.  All who knew Scott will deeply miss him because he touched so many lives with his kindness and his humor.  In addition to his mother, he leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved son, Erikai; former wife, Tessa Jackson; beloved grandmother, Geraldine Jackson; sister, Chante’ Mandola; brother, Joshua Mandola; Aunts, Tara McKinney (Noah), Tammy Snowden (Reggie) and Greta Jackson; niece, Trinity Jackson; nephews Mekhi Dove and Davian Jackson, cousins, Ashley McKinney, David Wade II, Samuel Dominique Wade, and Nicholas Jackson; a host of other relatives and friends, and special friend, Devan.   A Celebration of Scott’s Life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, February 17, 2020 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1757 10th Avenue, Huntington, WV with Rev. Reginald Hill, officiating.  Family will welcome friends at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
