Jean Ann Dawson
(July 26, 1936 - June 15, 2020)

Jean Ann Dawson, 83 years young, entered her Heavenly home on Monday, June 15, 2020.  She was born on July 26, 1936 in Huntington to the late Sylvester Gibson and Beatrice (Parks) Gibson.  She is preceded in death along with her parents; one son, Terry Michael Dawson.  Jean was a 1956 graduate of Douglass High School.  After school, she met and wedded her beloved husband, Henry Irvin Dawson.  Throughout her life, Jean was a Professional Housekeeper for many years and a homemaker.  Jean was an avid book reader.  She could read any book and tell you about the whole book without having to read it again – very captivating.  Jean was a tremendous mother, a great teacher and a fabulous cook.  She attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for many years until she was unable to attend.  She also sung in the church choir.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory; son, Leroy H. Dawson (Robert); special friends, Jenny Lee Haysting and Nancy Burkhart.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home with Rev. Franklin Murphy, officiating.  Family will welcome friends at 12 Noon.  Burial follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
