Brenda Jean Ferguson-Amaefule Age 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 07, 2020. Brenda was born on June 26, 1953 to the late Watty Ferguson and Novella Ferguson-Jones in Huntington, W. VA., the youngest of seven children. She received her education from Cabell County Public Schools, graduating from Huntington High School. Brenda worked as a dedicated and devoted employee of the Huntington YMCA for 20+ years until her retirement. She served the Lord at several churches in the Huntington area and always shared a loving smile to those who needed it. Her life's passion of caring for children, reading books, playing word games and volunteering in the community was a true testament of her loving and sweet spirit. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Watty Ferguson and Novella Ferguson-Jones, her 3 brothers, Alphonso, Carl and Steve, and her loving son Eric. Brenda leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted children, daughter Stephanie and son Michael. Her loving grandchildren: Aaron, Alacie, Raven, Michael and Jalen, as well as, 6 great-grandchildren that she loved and adored; and amongst them, "Lil E", the joy of her heart. She is also survived by one brother, James Ferguson (Colleen) and her three sisters: Wanda Waiters, Beatrice Ferguson, and Larna Hayden, as well as, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a very special sister-friend, Ms. Willa Cook, (Bae). She will be greatly missed by all for her peaceful spirit and her witty sense of humor. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M, Saturday, March14, 2020 at Full Gospel Assembly, Huntington, WV with Bishop Samuel R. Moore officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
