Larry L.
Powell, 64, of Barboursville formerly of
Milton entered into the loving
arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 19, 2007 at the VA Medical
Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at
Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor David Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow in
Forest
Memorial Park,
Milton. He
was born in
Huntington,
WV on March 23, 1943 to the
late Arthur “Bill” and Beulah Hicks Powell. He is also
preceded in death by his brother, Rodger Keith Powell.
He is survived by his best friend and love of his life, Susie Midkiff
Powell; his two adored daughters, Kelli and Chad Clark, Ami and Cory
Richardson all of Barboursville, WV; three grandchildren, who were the
light of his life, McKenna and Alex Clark and Chance Richardson; one
sister, Angela Sue and Leonard Scott Evans of Huntington, WV; one brother,
David and Nancy Powell of Ona, WV; mother-in-law, Lula Midkiff of
Branchland, WV; a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and
friends. Larry served in the United States Army and is
a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid fan of
Marshall
University.
But most of all he enjoyed studying and teaching the word of God,
taking all he had learned and filling the lives of others.
Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Heck
Funeral Home, Milton.
