Maxine Nance, 79, of Apple Grove, WV, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Mt. Gilead, Ohio. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with the Rev. Darrell Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery, Ashton, WV. She was born December 10, 1930 in Ranger, WV, a daughter of the late John and Edith Adkins McCoy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Nance; children, Jarrell Chaney, Joseph Chaney and Gail Chaney; and siblings, Buddy McCoy, JR. McCoy, Jim Bob McCoy and Odesa Belamy. She was a member of College Hill Church, Crab Creek, WV. She is survived by two daughters, Frances Cox of Mt. Gilead, OH and Arisclene Fowler of Glenwood, WV; two sons, Melvin Chaney of Mt. Gilead, OH and Lonnie Chaney of Jerry’s Run, WV; one brother, Daniel McCoy of Marion, OH; three sisters, Dretta Green of Proctorville, OH, Marietta Ross of Branchland, WV and Lucille Moore of KY; 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
