Loreda Adkins, 86, of Milton passed away Monday, December 5, 2011 at Golden Living Center – Riverside, St. Albans, WV. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Lynn Cart officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. She was born June 21, 1925 in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Omer and Sylvia Purdy Loftis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Adkins; and two brothers, Bill Loftis and Les Loftis. Mrs. Adkins was a member of Milton United Methodist Church and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and was owner and operator of the Hurricane Grill. She was involved in many church and community activities and groups. She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca L. Adkins Stowers; five sons, David (Jheng) Painter, J. Mike (Cindy) Adkins, D. Patrick Adkins, Jon Adkins and Gary Adkins; six grandsons, Chuck and Mike Adkins, Chris Painter, Dusty Stowers, Greg Adkins and Jonathan Adkins; four great grandchildren, Trey Adkins, Maddie Adkins, Addyson Painter and Marleigh Cobb; one brother, Kyle (Jo Ann) Loftis and one sister-in-law, Shirley Adkins Wheeler. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
