John Paul Fabry, Jr., 92, of Culloden passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born October 15, 1918 in Omar, WV, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Muchy Fabry. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Zenith Fizer Fabry; one son, Ronald P. Fabry; three brothers, Matthew Fabry, Robert Fabry and Willie Fabry and his wife Aileen and one sister, Margaret Pruitt. Mr. Fabry was baptized over 80 years ago in Culloden and was a veteran of the US Army, having served in World War II. He was a very kind hearted man who loved his farming, raising pumpkins, bowling and fishing. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and David Collins; one sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Jim Salerno; one grandson, John David “JD” and Lisa Collins; two great grandchildren, John Wesley and Catherine Elizabeth Collins; three sisters-in-law, Catherine Fabry, Mildred Fizer and Ruth Peters; and one brother-in-law, Roy Pruitt. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington, the staff at Midland Meadows, Cabell County EMS and a host of family and friends, including Dwight and Tammy Edwards, who were like grandchildren to Mr. Fabry for their kind words, thoughts, efforts and care giving, along with Johnathan Edwards, who was like a great grandson. There were lots of great times shared with Johnny for many, many years. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
