Obituary

Anna Ruth Cart Glenn went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at her residence with her children present. She was born July 30, 1929 in Milton, WV to the late Cecil and Opal Cart. She married Richard Okey Glenn on March 8, 1946 and worked at White Owl Cigar Factory until its closure. They briefly moved to South Carolina, returning to WV in 1958 with their four children where she cared for the elderly until becoming a full-time homemaker. She was also a member of the Barboursville American Legion Auxiliary Post 177. Sadly, Richard preceded her in death in 1985 and she became her family’s sole support, role model and confidante. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Adkins Hitchcock and two great grandsons, Colton James Ramey and Derek Scott Kirk. She is survived by four children, Billy Joe Glenn of Milton, Gail Glenn of Milton, Janie Skaggs and her husband, Terry of Huntington and Connie Morgan and her husband, James of Barboursville; one brother, Robert Cart; four sisters, Ella Mae Carter, Donna Cart, Reta Fetty and Ada Smith, all of Milton; three granddaughters, Anna E. Brizendine and her husband, Mark and Trine’e Morgan, all of Barboursville and Amy McComas of Barboursville; seven great grandchildren, Ciera-Cheyenne Norvell and her husband, Timothy, Corey Morgan, Darian Gray, Keyesta Morgan, Gary McComas, Brandon McComas and Kirstin McComas; and one great-great granddaughter, Lacie Elizabeth Faith Norvell. The family would like to offer a very special thank-you to Nannette Morris who lovingly cared for her to the end, and to hospice, whose nurses have the hardest job of all and do it so well. Friends and loved ones may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Roger Adams at Heck Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26. There will be a brief graveside service following at Forest Memorial Park, Milton and friends and family will gather at the home of David and Dana Walters.
