Obituary
Harold Edward Ayers Sr.,
80, of Barboursville, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2015 at his home.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2014 at Heck
Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Leo Skaggs officiating. Entombment will
follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Mr. Ayers was born
February 27, 1934 in Ranger, WV, a son of the late Russell J. Sr. and Cora
Cornwell Ayers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Bledsoe
Ayers; three brothers, Clarence Ayers, Russell “Junior” Ayers and Ray Ayers;
and special friend, Ernestine Staten. Mr. Ayers was a member of First
Guyandotte Baptist Church, Huntington and a Kentucky Colonel. He was also a
veteran of the US Army, having served with the 56th Signal Company Repair
and was employed as an Electronic Repairman with Sears for 44 years. He is
survived by two sons, Harold Edward Ayers, Jr, MD and his wife, Laloni of
Pt. Pleasant and David R. Ayers and his wife, B.J. of Clinton, TN; four
grandchildren, Kathleen Tse and her husband, Andrew of Smyrna, GA, Rachel
Ayers of Pt. Pleasant, Hannah Ayers of Clinton, TN and Faith Elizabeth Ayers
of Pt. Pleasant; two great grandchildren, Caroline and Kristen; one sister,
Opal Childers of Proctorville, OH; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ayers of
Huntington; and three nieces, Linda Sites of Chesapeake, OH, Karen Childers
of Proctorville, OH and Kathy Jo Smith of Ashland, KY. Friends may call from
noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Heck Funeral Home.
