Fred S. Karnes

Fred S. Karnes, 83, of Milton passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2015 at Genesis Putnam Center, Hurricane. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 at Milton United Methodist Church with Pastor Lynn Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV. Fred was born November 21, 1931 in Kegley, WV, a son of the late Dewey and Hazel Karnes. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gena McCarty; six sisters; and one brother. Fred attended the Milton United Methodist Church for over 40 years and was a Life Member of the Marine Corps League, Detachment #340. He is survived by his wife, Elenora McKeever Karnes; one daughter, Kim Karnes of Milton; one grandson, Jax McCarty of Boone County, WV; and one brother, Wayne Karnes of Borger, TX. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
