Victor Allan Harshbarger
(September 9, 1934 - July 29, 2018)



Following a lengthy illness, Victor Allan Harshbarger, 83, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  Victor was born September 9, 1934, a son of the late Hubert and Ora Mae Harshbarger, having spent his entire life in the Milton area.  Victor was a graduate of Marshall University, Class of 1962, with a BA & Masters in Music Education.  He was band director at Milton High School, started Ona Jr. High band and taught music at Cox’s Landing.  He retired in 1992 after teaching 39 ˝ years in Cabell County.  He was a member of the NEA and WVS Music Association.  Victor is survived by sisters, Louis Mae Conner, Annette Lunsford and Jeannette Rickard; nieces, Shari Parsons (Steve), Dr. Debbie Lockwood (Justin), Dr. Miriam McGhee (Dwayne) and Marti Rickard; great nieces and nephews, Nathan Parsons (Lindsey), Joel Parsons (Brittney), Sophia Lockwood, Jeff Langley, Sam Langley and Shari Wilson (Tyler); and one great-great nephew, Liam Parsons.  Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Milton United Methodist Church, Milton, of which he had been a member for over 72 years.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.  Burial will be at Forest Memorial Park in the Harshbarger Family Plot.
