Carl M. Shepherd
1922 - 2007


CARL M."SHEP" SHEPHERD, 84, of Lesage, WV, went to be with the Lord, Monday, January 1, 2007 in St, Mary's Medical Center. He was born May 8, 1922, in Barboursville, WV the son of the late George and Goldie Black Shepherd. He was also preceded in death by eight sisters, Marie Parkman, Verbie Fergeson, Maxine Rayburn, Irene Rayburn, Nelda Morgan, Joann Landers, Nila Boster, Thelma Bowen. Five Brothers, George "Moody" Shepherd, Billy Shepherd, Robert Bowen, Clifford Bowen. He was a veteran of the US Army during world War I(I having served in Europe and was awarded 7 major Battle Stars. He retired from H.K. Porteer/Connors Steel Company after 36 years. He was a former Constable of Cabell County, a member of V.F.W. 9738 which will conduct a full military funeral, the American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. Funeral service will be held, Friday, January 5, 2007 at HENSON MORTUARY, Huntington. Visitation will be Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the mortuary. Officiating will be the Rev. Danny Ross, and Rev. Ron Page. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He is survived by the love of his life Joann. One daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Fred Hoffman of Frederick MD , son and daughter in law Carl M. Jr. and Linda Shepherd. Sons, Bob Shepherd, John Shepherd, Matthew Bandy, all of Lesage, jWV. Five Grandchildren, Pamela Holtzinger and William Folden of Frederick, MD, Donald and Tim Folden of Hedgesville, WV, and John Michael Shepherd of Nitro, WV. Nine Great Grandchildren. One brother Alva Bowen Jr. of Barboursville. Avery large host of family and friends. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers. HENSON MORTUARY of Huntington, is in charge of arraignments.
