ObituaryWalter N. Young WALTER N. YOUNG, 83, of Huntington, passed away, Monday, February 11, 2008, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born March 15, 1924 to the late Jesse James and Theadoskia Nettles Young, in Strange Creek, West Virginia, Clay County. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Young. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers. He is survived by Three daughters, Stephanie Jill McCallister, Moundsville, Theia Jane Woodall, Huntington, Margorie Ellen Hertig, Goode, VA., six grandchildren, Karen Goodall, Stephen Ray McCallister, Chad Michael Woodall, Terry Allen Woodall, Jamie Shawn Hertig, Leland Conrad Hertig, one great grandchild, Dakota "Cody" Blake Woodall. Mr. Young was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII, and was retired from C&P Telephone Co. as a Technician. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneer Club. He was a Charter member of the Bates Memorial Presbyterian Church. Special Thanks to St. Mary's Home Health Care Team C, Dr. Shawn Coffman, Anthony who watched the house and everyone who prayed for Walter Young. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 15, 2006 at HENSON MORTUARY, BARBOURSVILLE. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the mortuary. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Officiating will be Rev. Arvie Maynard. Donations or contributions can be made to the Building Fund at Bates Memorial Presbyterian Church Arrangements are being handled by HENSON MORTUARY BARBOURSVILLE.
