MARYANN DAUGHERTY OLSON
(May 9, 1947 - June 21, 2011)

MaryAnn Daugherty Olson, 64 of Huntington, W.Va. passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center, Huntington, W.Va. She was born May 9, 1947 in Huntington, W.Va. the daughter of the late, Chester C. Sr. and Magdaline (Floyd) Carter.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Chester C. “Bud” Carter, Jr. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. She is survived by her husband, Terrence “Terry” Olson; two sisters, Magdaline Allene Maple of Huntington, W.Va. and Alice Sue Davis of Lexington, KY. MaryAnn was retired from the Huntington Mall as the Head of Security, a former Dispatcher with the West Virginia State Police Huntington Detachment, Paramedic for the Cabell County STOP Ambulance and  a Marshall University Police Officer. MaryAnn was very active in supporting animal rights and the Humane Society.  The family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of MaryAnn to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Gifts, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. Fellow Police Officers and friends will serve as pallbearers.
