SUSAN PAULINE WOOD
(November 30, 1918 - June 14, 2014)

Susan Pauline Griffith Wood, 95 of Huntington, WV, went to her heavenly reward on Saturday, June 14, 2014 in Teays Valley Center. She was born November 30, 1918 in Jean, KY. the daughter of the late, George and Sarah Kitchen Griffith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Theodore Roosevelt "Ted" Wood and four brothers, three sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Patsy Wood. She was blessed with one son, Rev. James Allen Wood and two daughters Laurel Faye Wood-Webb of SC, and Karen Diane and husband, Marshall Hickman of Huntington, WV; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and a niece whom she raised, Maxine McCoy (Lou) Busits of FL. and several nieces, nephews and “Kids” that called her “Mama.” She was a lifelong member of Apostolic Life Cathedral and served as church secretary for many years. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Apostolic Life Cathedral followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 PM at the church with Rev. E.S. Harper, Rev. Terry Haynes and Rev. Anthony Moss officiating. Burial will follow at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Oaklawn Memorial Park Huntington, WV. Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, WV near Barboursville is caring for the family.
