JOSEPH ALAN WORDEN
(July 19, 1978 - June 28, 2014)

Joseph Alan Worden, 35, of Huntington, WV, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born July 19, 1978 in Manhattan, KS. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Chris Stamper and grandmother, Vada Romine. He was a 1996 Huntington High School graduate, obtained his associates degree in Accounting, was a CNA in the home health care industry and attended Christ Temple Church. He is survived by his father, James Andrew Worden (Julie) of Tampa, FL. and his mother, Carolyn Sue Burdette Workman (Larry) of Huntington, W.Va. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his wife, Billie Jean (Dabney) Worden of Huntington, W.Va; step-son, Samuel Matthew Reynolds; one brother, James Andrew Worden II; two step-brothers, Larry G. Workman, Jr. and Lindsay Geoff Workman; seven step-sisters, Melissa Tomblin, Angela Mills, Kristi Hamm, Lesley Adkins, Lisa L. Thompson, Lucinda “Cindy” L. Gregory and Leslie L. Lanham; mother and father-in-law, Margaret and David Scarberry; brother-in-law, Billy Ray Dabney; step-grandmother, Patricia Hearberlin and special friends, Brian, Shelly, Billy Bob, and James and Pat Shutphin. The family would like to say thank you to the ICU nurses, doctors and staff at Cabell Huntington Hospital for their care. Visitation will be conducted from 6-8 PM on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, WV. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
