JAMES RIK BUMGARDNER
(April 23, 1952 - September 15, 2014)

James Daniel Rik Bumgardner, 62 of Huntington, W.Va. passed away, Monday, September 15, 2014 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born April 23, 1952 in Logan, W.Va. the son of Elizabeth Perdieu Bumgardner Jeffers of Proctorville, OH. and the late, James Bumgardner. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his brother, David Jeffers. He is survived by his wife, Karen Fraley Bumgardner of Huntington, W.Va; one son, Scott Bumgardner (Shawna) of Huntington, W.Va. and one daughter, Melissa Bloom (Damian) of Jacksonville, Fla; one brother, Kenny Bumgardner (Robin) of Proctorville, OH. six grandchildren, Eden, Ella, Ashley and Bri Bumgardner and Wilson and Haden Bloom and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was a computer programmer, a 1997 Zac Binkley Citizen Volunteer of the year recipient from the Herald-Dispatch, former Cabell County School Board Member, long time youth basketball supporter and assistant coach at Beverly Hills Jr. High School and Huntington East High School and member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church, Barboursville with Dr,. Jerry Warren officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday, September 19, 2014 at the church. Henson & Kitchen Mortuary is caring for the family.
