RUBY CATHERINE JOHNSON COTTRELL, 91 of Hurricane, W.Va., passed away,
Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the Regency Place Assisted Living, Scott
Depot, W.Va. She was born January 3, 1924, in Hurricane, W.Va., the
daughter of the late Orville and Martha Easter Johnson. In addition to her
parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband in 2005, Hershel
Odell Cottrell. She was a beautician and member of First Baptist Church,
Hurricane, W.Va. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara "Bobbi" and
James Harper of Hurricane, W.Va., and one son, Judson and Bobbie Cottrell
of Scott Depot, W.Va; one brother, Donald Johnson of Hurricane, W.Va; four
grandchildren, Mary Katherine Poland, B.J. Boydston, Steven Judd Cottrell
and Shawn Cottrell. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at First Baptist Church, Hurricane, W.Va.,
with Rev. Jim McGehee officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel
Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. The family will receive friends
from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary,
Barboursville, W.Va., and an hour prior to services at the church on
