VALERIA B. JOHNSTON
(April 17, 1922 - July 14, 2015)

Valeria B. Johnston, 93, of Huntington, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born April 17, 1922 in Winfield, Putnam County, W.V, a daughter of the late Oscar and Iva Pierce Washington. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 18, 2015 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, at 2:00 P.M. by the Rev. Chris Perkins burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, The family will receive friends form 6-8 P.M. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at the mortuary. Mrs. Johnston was preceded by her husband James W. Johnston II; a son, David Allen ,a daughter, Connie, four sisters, Velva, Villa, Vonda, Violet; two brothers, Melvin, Mervin. Survivors include one daughter and her husband Linda & Vince Wilson of Oxford, Michigan; three sons and their wives, Bobby Gene & Debra Johnston of Dahlonega, Ga; James W. III. and Brenda Johnston of Huntington, W.Va,  Paul T. and Diana Johnston of Huntington, W.Va; sister, Karen Johnston, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and four  great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnston was a former member of the Cedar Crest Drive Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnston request that donations be made to The Huntington City Mission.
