SHELVA JEAN RAKES
(December 20, 1948 - July 5, 2015)

Shelva Jean Adkins Rakes, 66 of Huntington, W.Va. passed away, Sunday, July 05, 2015 in Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born, December 20, 1948 in Hamlin, W.Va. the daughter of the late, Lester Shelby and Roberta (Wiblen) Adkins.  She was a homemaker and was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen Rakes, Jr. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. with Pastor Dallas Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton, W.Va. She is survived by one son, Henry Lee Rakes of Barboursville, W.Va; sisters, Diana Howard (Jerry) of NC, Debbie Chapman (Duane) of Salt Rock, W.Va. and Kathy Adkins of Barboursville, W.Va; nieces and nephews, Michael Howard, Tammy Howard Bauman, Jason Stowers and Todd Chapman; three special friends, Alice Perry, Sandra Harper and Ray Layman. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary; Barboursville, W.Va.
