Obituary
Jason Grant Wintz, 42 of Huntington, W.Va. passed away, Thursday, February 23, 2017. He was born November 17, 1974 in Wheeling, W.Va. the son of the Judith Higginbothom Smith of Huntington, W.Va. and the late, George Wintz. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Richard L. Smith, Sr. Jason was an employee of the Village of Barboursville where he was instrumental in the implementation of the Disc Golf Course, a Barboursville High School graduate, attended Marshall University; a graduate of Amarillo College with a degree in Robotics Technology, member of Olive Baptist Church and a proud U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Tyler Wintz of Huntington, W.Va. and Shawn Adkins of Winston Salem, NC.; step-brother, Richard L. Smith, Jr. an aunt and uncle, Barbara and Carl Cary of Ona, W.Va, several cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Abbey of Devotion, Huntington, W.Va. with Pastor Gordon Rutherford officiating with honors provided by the United States Marine Corp. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va. with a funeral procession to follow to the cemetery.
