      Obituary
 
     
 Lena Mary Davis Walker, 99 of 
    Barboursville, WV, passed away, Friday, December 14, 2018 at The Village of 
    Riverview, Barboursville. She was born December 10, 1919 in Huntington, WV 
    the daughter of the late, Otho Davis, Sr. and Hazel Roberts Davis. She was 
    retired from Huntington Mfg. Company also known as Reliance Dress Factory 
    and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #95, Barboursville, WV.
 In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, 
    James Willard Walker; son, Roger Walker and daughter, Linda Walker Tripple; 
    sister, Ruth Davis Wellman; brothers, Galley Davis, Otho Davis, Jr. and Gene 
    Davis.
 
 She is survived by her four children, James Walker, Jr. of AZ, John Walker 
    of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Carolyn Walker Merritt (Glen) of Lesage, WV and 
    Denise Walker Mansfield (David) of Ashland, KY; sisters Charlene Davis 
    (George) of Scottown, OH, Hazel Davis Spurlock (Don) of Proctorville, OH; 
    brothers, Jack Davis (JoAnn) of Los Angeles, CA and James Davis (Ann) of 
    Tipp City, OH; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
 
 She will be missed in so many ways by her entire family, particularly by our 
    inability to make apple butter without her. She alone decided how much 
    sugar, how much cinnamon and when it was done; never by measurement, always 
    by taste. Thank you for the great memories and stories we will all share 
    with our grandchildren.
 
 Lena’s family would like to express gratitude for care, love and compassion 
    shown to our mother by her caregivers and staff at The Village of Riverview 
    Assisted Living.
 
 Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19, 
    2018 at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, East Pea Ridge Road, Huntington with 
    Rev. Robert E. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel 
    Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. The family will receive friends from 
    11:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at the mortuary.
