John Paul Freeman, 84 of Barboursville, WV passed away, Monday, April 6, 2020 at Paramount Senior Living, Ona, WV. He was born March 25, 1936 in Huntington, WV the son of the late, Herman and Ruth Ratcliff Freeman. He was a retired Vice President of Huntington Federal Bank, U.S. Air Force Veteran, member of the former Masonic Lodge #52 in Guyandotte, member of Pea Ridge United Methodist Church and was affectionately known by his friends and family as the Mayor of Guyan Estates. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Gene Freeman, Jerry Dale Freeman and Gary Lee Freeman. He is survived by his wife, Kay Logsdon Freeman of Barboursville, WV; three sons, Timothy John Freeman of Huntington, WV, Donal Eric Freeman (MaryBeth) of Barboursville, WV and Peter Garick Freeman (Jennifer) of Huntington, WV; one sister, Carol Underwood of Huntington, WV; grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Freeman, Robert and Jillian Freeman and Jordan and Sydney Freeman. Private graveside services honoring the governor’s recommendation of social distancing will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Forest Memorial Park, Milton, WV with Rev. Angela Gay Kinkead officiating. Burial will follow.  Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, 6357 East Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, WV near Barboursville are caring for the family.
