Randy Lee Swain


Randy Lee Swain, 68 of Ceredo, WV, happy, healthy, and building his house passed away, Monday, April 13,2020. Heart disease may have stopped his heart here, but his personal relationship with Christ keeps it beating in heaven. He was born September 4, 1951 in Huntington, West Virginia, to his parents, Gene Edward and Elizabeth Lillibridge Swain. In addition to his father, Gene Edward Swain, Randy was preceded in death by his father and mother in law, Pete and Mary Walters, brothers in law, John Howard, Rodney Blatt and Paul Walters. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Joyce "Joy" Swain of Ceredo, WV; two sons, Joseph (Ashley) Swain of Huntington, Matthew Swain of Ceredo, WV; sisters, Bonnie (Jim) Trader of Ona, WV and Tammie (Phillip) Distel of Ona, WV; sisters in law, Karen Howard of Florida, Vickie Blatt (Bill) Norman of Scott Depot, WV, Sharon (Wayne) Turley of Ceredo, WV and Sherry Hibbard Walters of Huntington, WV. Randy had a special love for his first granddaughter, Emily, who made him a Popop and his love increased by the addition of grandchildren, Iliana, Kelsey, Kailyn, Aiden, and Aliyah.  Randy was a former employee at the VA Medical Center in Huntington and an active member of Christ Temple Church, where he was a recent graduate of the Men’s Fraternity. Randy and Joy were also in the process of building their home.  Due to the times we are in, a private family funeral service will be conducted at Noon, Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Christ Temple Church, Huntington, with Pastor Chuck Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Joseph Swain, Matthew Swain, James Blatt, Michael Blatt, Wayne Turley and Bill Norman will serve as pallbearers. Robert and Tyler Wilson will serve as honorary pallbearers. There will be a family viewing one hour prior to services at the church.
