Obituary
Gary E. Enoch, most recently of Barboursville, WV, died approximately Saturday, July 4, 2020, at his home. He was born October 30, 1939, in Akron, Ohio, to Troy W. Enoch and Ada Elizabeth Varner Enoch who predeceased him. Gary’s mother died when he was ten years old, which was a wound that never healed. Gary was a veteran of the Air Force and the Marines, a jack-of-all-trades and a lifelong scholar. He was an interesting person and took divergent career paths throughout the years trying to find a place to fit, such as in accounting, the United Methodist ministry, real estate, and financial planning. He held several degrees and was a proud alumnus of Duke University, Marshall University, West Liberty University, and Mountain State College. Gary had unshakable Christian faith but was open to people of all faiths (or absence of faith), all orientations, all questions, and all beliefs, saying his God was big enough to accept all things. Gary is survived by his daughter, Cam, Fil (whom Gary claimed as his son), and two grandsons, Calvin and Harrison, from Greensboro, NC. Gary is also survived by Sharon Blackwell, who is one of the most important people in his life. Her family, including Fern, Ken, and Jim, Shawn (Liz) Morton) and Steve (Lisa) Morton also survive. You gave him a sense of belonging and we are eternally grateful. Cam is hopeful that her dad has reunited with his mother and this his broken heart is now whole again. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. We won’t call this a goodbye. We’ll just say “See ya later, Dude.” Peace be the journey. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Parkersburg, WV at a later date.
