William Buster "Bill" Thompson


William Buster “Bill” Thompson, 85 of Barboursville, WV passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at home. He was born May 26, 1936 in Wayne County, WV the son of the late, Charles and Mary Lawhon Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Opal Ann Phipps Thompson. He was self employed providing local painting and home repairs and a member of Sunrise Temple Baptist Church. He also loved motorcycling and traveling with his wife, Ann. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Tamerlani, Rebecca Chaffin, and Beulah Chinn; one brother, Charles Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Opal Ann Phipps Thompson; two brothers, Robert (Phyllis) Thompson and John (Samalea) Thompson; five children, Daniel (Terri) Thompson, Cheryl (Bill) Plybon, Cynthia (Bobby) McKenzie, Monica (Scott) Revely and Thirl (Donna) Thompson; eight grandchildren, Rachel Thompson, Kathryn Thompson, Marisa Carpenter, Jonathon Burns, Jessica Scott, Cheyenne Dolin, Alyia Revely and William Paul Revely; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Burns, Abylen Scott and Braylen Scott; special daughter-in-law, JoAnn Thompson. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary 6357 E. Pea Ridge Rd. Huntington, WV near Barboursville with Pastor Mark Finley officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. The family will receive friends an hour prior to services at the mortuary.
