Gloria Thelma Hensley, 81 of Mt. Hope, WV formerly of Ona, WV, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 21, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Mt. Hope, WV. She was born May 22, 1939 in Hurricane, WV the daughter of the late, William Samuel and Maude Arvella Sowards Peters. She was a retired Personnel Director at Tri-Express Shipping Company and was a lifetime member of Calvary Apostolic Church, Hurricane, WV where she held many positions over the years. she was also a graduate of Hurricane High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dewey Lee Hensley. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer McLain of Mt. Hope, WV; one sister, Carrie Peters Stanley (Landon) of Hurricane, WV and one brother, Rev. Charles Douglas Peters (Carma) of Hurricane, WV; granddaughter, Alexis McLain of Mt. Hope, WV; three nephews, Stuart Sowards of Huntington, WV, Doug Peters of Clarksburg, WV and Ian Peters of Hurricane, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Calvary Apostolic church, Hurricane Creek Rd. Hurricane, WV with Pastor Charles Douglas Peters and Pastor Robert Ayers, II. officiating. A private family burial will be held on Wednesday at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 5-7 PM. Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, 6357 E. Pea Ridge Rd. Huntington, WV near Barboursville is caring for the family.
