George Colbert "Cobbie" Lee
(December 20, 1951 - August 20, 2022)

George “Cobbie” Colbert Lee, 70, passed away in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Saturday, August 20, 2022. He was born December 20, 1951 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Cobbie Lee and Mary George (Mattingly) Lee. Cobbie was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and devoted to serving the Lord.

Cobbie loved spending time with family and friends and he cherished each moment. He also enjoyed fishing, cooking but more than anything else cheering for his children and grandchildren at their sporting events was his priority. He was a loyal friend, loving husband and incredible dad and pawpaw. Cobbie was an honorable member of the US Army and retired from his career as a Biomedical Technician of 48 years in 2018.

Besides his parents Cobbie is preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Barbara Ann (James) Lee. Those left to cherish his memory are countless friends; 3 sisters, Victoria Hull, Lou Anne Lee and Shelley Lee; his children, Nikki (Lee) Shannon and Brandon Lee; two grandchildren, Cole and Ruby Shannon; brothers-in-law Bill James (Joy) and Frank James; a number of nieces and nephews that he was crazy about and his loyal four-legged companion, Moe Moe.

Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 3:00 PM at Bates Memorial Presbyterian Church of Huntington, WV. Graveside service will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Park of Barboursville, WV at 2:00 PM for those that would like to attend.

The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Bates Memorial Presbyterian Church or Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter.
