Obituary
Stephanie Diane Jones Diamond, 68, of
Inwood, WV formerly of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully on Saturday
May 7, 2022 at Winchester Medical Center. Stephanie had recently retired
from Jefferson County Schools where she taught for 32 years, most recently
as a 6th grade science teacher at Charles Town Middle School. In 2019 she
was awarded the Make it Shine Environmental Teacher of the Year award for
intermediate grades. She loved her students and worked tirelessly to inspire
them through gardening, nature and the outdoors. Stephanie was a loving
mother and grandmother, fantastic teacher, avid gardener, excellent cook,
accomplished harpist, Master Naturalist and puppy raiser for Guiding Eyes
for the Blind. She was born April 29, 1954 in Huntington, WV, she was the
daughter of the late Ernest H. Jones and Dolores I. Beever Jones. She is
survived by one son, Nicholas R. Diamond and his wife Amy of Cross Junction,
VA; one daughter, Natasha S. Diamond and her husband, Jeff their children
and Stephanie’s grandchildren, Willa and Jon, of Mayer, AZ; one brother,
David B. Jones and his wife Karen of Huntington, WV; and one sister,
Jennifer A. Jones of Shepherdstown, WV. The family will host a private
memorial service at a later date. Henson and Kitchen Mortuary 6357 E. Pea
Ridge Rd. Huntington, WV near Barboursville is caring for the family
locally.
