Barry Lee Smith
(August 14, 1968 - October 22, 2022)

Barry Lee Smith, Jr. 54 of Ona, WV entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born August 14, 1968 the son of Barry Lee Smith and Carolyn (Sevy) Smith of Ona, WV. He was a well known musician, working at Rt. 60 Music for many years as well as previously at the Pied Piper, downtown Huntington and the Huntington Mall location. He was a member of New Birth Church in Barboursville, WV and was in many local Bands, such as GuRu Lovechild, 60 Cycle Hum, Earth To Eros, Hybrid Zero, Blue Steele, John Lancaster Project and 4 Ohm Mono. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth Colegrove and Russell Thomas Sevy and an infant brother, Michael Smith. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Caryn Cary Smith of Ona, WV; the light of his life, his son, Cameron Thomas Smith of Ona, WV; brother, Thomas “Chris” Smith of Ona, WV; a niece, Kassidy Smith; In-laws, Richard and Claudia Cary of Barboursville, WV; sister-in-law, Tina Thompson (Jason) of Chesapeake, OH and his constant companion, his dog, Tyson. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington, Dr. Bir and staff, St. Mary’s Infusion Center, his Dr. at OSU, Dr. Monk and his team. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, 6357 E. Pea Ridge Rd. Huntington, WV. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm service time on Wednesday at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary with Pastor David Kitchen and Dr. Jeff Overstreet officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV.
