Mr. Donald Lee Preston
(November 7, 1934 - June 17, 2011)

Donald Lee Preston, 76, of Chesapeake, Ohio, formerly of Huntington, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 by the Rev. Jim Franklin at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary. Interment will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Don was born November 7, 1934 in Huntington, son of the late Fred and Mary Wilson Preston. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Preston DeFoe. He retired in 1999 as a salesman for the Jefferds Corporation. He was a 1953 graduate of Huntington East High School; he played trumpet in the band and later enjoyed his hobby of music by playing in several dixieland jazz bands over the years. His other hobbies included boating and supporting Marshall football and basketball. Survivors include his daughter, Tawna Preston of Knoxville, TN; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Dee Preston of Kenova, WV; a granddaughter, Courtney Preston Adkins; a grandson, Jared Preston; a great grandson, Gavin Adkins; a special aunt, Helen Seager of Milton, WV and a special cousin, Mike Wilson of Stuart, VA. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at the funeral home.
