Dolores Caudill

Dolores
June White Caudill, 85
peacefully departed this life on August 13, 2012. She was born in Boone
County, WV, the daughter of Theron Jennings White and Illa M. White. She was
preceded in death by her parents, step father S. Jack Drake and her loving
husband of over 50 years J. Leroy Caudill.
"Dee" is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and "Sas"
Caudill, their three children, William
Alexander, James Frasher and Kady I. Caudill,
brother & sister-in-law Gene and Dolly Caudill,
brother-in-law Earl Caudill and many nieces
and nephews who she loved very much. She was a graduate of Scott High School
and Marshall University. After graduation she was a school teacher for many
years starting her teaching career in a one room school. Dee and Leroy
Caudill were devoted to Marshall
University. They were active in the alumni association for many years
serving in many different capacities. Together they received the Marshall
Alumni Distinguished Service Award. Dee was the program chairman for the
Marshall Memorial Invitational for many years. She was a fan of all the
sports at Marshall and was chosen by Coach Lengyel as the first female
"Honorary Coach" for a football game at the old Fairfield Stadium. She was
also an avid fan of the Huntington High Pony Express. She was a member of
the Ceredo Church of Christ and was a charter member of the Greenbrier
Heights Garden Club. Dee was also a member of the Green Valley VFD's Ladies
Auxiliary for many years. The family would like to thank the staff at
Grayson Assisted Living, where she made her home, for the truly wonderful
and loving care that they gave her. Also the family sends out its special
love and thanks to Brenda Russell who was Dee's special angel for all those
years. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at
Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary by Minister David Roach. Interment will follow in
Woodmere Memorial Park. Friends may call Friday, Noon until service time at
the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that friends honor her
memory with a donation to a local volunteer service organization.
