Margaret "Mickey" Goldenberg
(March
1, 1920 - August 11, 2012)
Margaret
Cohen Goldenberg, 92, died
Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Woodlands. Mickey, as she was known to her
friends, was a native of Huntington and a graduate of Marshall University.
She worked for over 18 years at the West Virginia Department of Welfare, was
an active volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and was a member of
Congregation B'nai Sholom in Huntington for many years.
Mrs. Goldenberg
was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Samuel and Hannah Gore Cohen,
her husband, Abe David Goldenberg, sisters,
Jeannette Lippman, Sadye Segal, Edythe Gross, Fannye Silverman and Rosalie
Schechter, and brothers, Charles Cohen and Bernard D. Cohen. Survivors
include her daughter, Janice S. Goldenberg
of Lexington, KY, and a great many nieces and nephews. Special thanks go to
all of her many caregivers at the Woodlands. Graveside services will be held
by Rabbi Jean Eglinton 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the B'Nai Israel
section of Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Arrangements are under the
direction of Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial
