Betty Jane Bolling Tippett

Betty
Jane Bolling
Tippett, 91, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, June
27, 2012 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born September 8,
1920 in Huntington, W.Va. a daughter of the late Julian Everett Bolling and
Carilla Alma Jordan Bolling of Cullen, Va. In addition to her parents she
was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Lawrence Theodore
Tippett; sisters, Bessie Grubbs, Louise Porter, Zetta Andre, Eleanor Miller
and brother Lawrence Earl Bolling. She is survived by two sons, Larry Thomas
Tippett of Huntington and John Tyler
Tippett of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren,
Thomas Wallace Tippett (Danyelle) of
Huntington, John Jordan Tippett (Kathryn)
of Charlotte, N.C. and Mary Kathryn Tippett
of Decatur, Ga.; one great granddaughter, Isabella Jean
Tippett of Huntington and several nieces
and nephews. Betty graduated from
Huntington High School in 1938 and attended Marshall University. She was a
church organist in Huntington and a member of Johnson Memorial United
Methodist Church for over 65 years. She was a member of the Huntington
Rotary Anns, Woman's Club of Huntington, Cotillion Club, Assembly, Mayfair
and Guyan Golf and Country Club. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be
given to Hospice of Huntington, Huntington Museum of Art, Marshall
University Alumni Association, or the charity of one's choice. Private
services for the family were held Saturday. Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary was
in charge of arrangements.
