Sarah Riddle McCorkle

1, 1929 - March 25, 2013)
Sarah R. McCorkle,
84 of Huntington, died Monday, March 25, 2013 in Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 by Dr. Allen
Reasons at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary. Interment will follow in Rome
Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until service time.
Sarah was born March 1, 1929 in Kenova, WV;
a daughter of the late Lawrence B. and Leva Ellen Workman
Riddle. In addition to her parents, she is
preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd W. McCorkle; three sisters and four
brothers. She was a member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and retired
from the C & O Rail Road with 42 years of service as the assistant chief
clerk in accounting. Survivors include a nephew, Lawrence D.
Riddle and his wife Barbara of Huntington,
her life-long friend, Ada Bibb of Huntington, a Godchild, Mary Jane Amos and
her husband, Charles of Huntington and their daughter, her name-sake,
Sarah C. Amos of Columbus, OH. A special
thank you is extended to Woodlands Health Care and Cabell Huntington E.R.
for their outstanding care. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested memorial
contributions be made to the Living Stones Campaign, c/o Fifth Ave. Baptist
Church.
