Mary Ann Jones Culbertson

Mary Ann
Jones Culbertson
was born on August 24, 1926, in Huntington, WV. and passed from death to
life eternal on May 5, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents,
Edward Chancellor Jones and Uldene Alley
Jones, her brother, John Edward
Jones, and her husband, Robert Harry
Culbertson, who died in 1969. She graduated
from Huntington High School and attended Marshall University. She and her
husband, Robert, High School sweethearts, married on November 25, 1944. She
is survived by her Daughters: Sue Culbertson
Jarrett and her husband Joseph of St. Albans, and Nancy
Culbertson Thompson and her husband Tom of
Huntington. She is also survived by her Grandchildren, Charles Robert
Thompson, Jennifer Ann Thompson, Mark Joseph Jarrett and his wife,
Sarah-Elaine Benda Jarrett, and Sarah Jarrett Sturm and her husband, Alan
Mace Sturm II and her 3 great-grandchildren, Lydia Joy Sturm, Cayden Dean
Sturm, Emilie Ruth Thompson, her sister- in-law, Laura Pauline (Polly)
Scranton Jones, and many nieces, nephews
and cousins. She was a member of Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church
for 78 years where she served as Communion Steward and member of the Altar
Guild for many years, was a member of the United Methodist Women, helped
with the Mrs. Claus Mission Project each
year and participated in the Good Friday Prayer Vigil at the Church each
year with her good friend, Amy Inghram. She was a member of the PEO, a
Hospice volunteer, a member of the Woman's Club of Huntington and worked for
Dr. Alan Wild for many years. She loved tennis and golf and her tennis and
golf friends. Visitation will be at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary on Tuesday,
May 7, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m and Wednesday, May 8, 2013 10:00 a.m.
until service time at the church. Funeral Services, conducted by the Rev.
Dr. John Lipphardt and the Rev. Joseph Hill, will be held at Johnson
Memorial United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will
be at Ridgelawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kathleen
O'Hanlon and her nurse, Billie Call, Dr. Charles McCormick, the wonderful,
kind, and caring people who serve through Hospice, and her kind and devoted
caregiver, Judy Smith.
Pallbearers – Robert Thompson, Jennifer Thompson, Mark Jarrett, Alan Sturm,
Paul Davis, Dutch Davis, and Ronald Adkins.
